
Do you really think that any government has that much control when it comes to the insatiable greed of private sector banking over the last 15 years? Further to that, getting on the back of the government for doing the only thing possible, however distasteful to the taxpayer, to prevent the economy from going into full scale recession ( something most of you won't remember and I hope you never experience it ) just shows a lack of understanding and fiscal foresight.
On a more important note I have been out and gt another case of Stella. I certainly know how to deal with you paupers losing your rainy day money ;)

it was Thatcher who deregulated everything and the public who have 'enjoyed' low taxes for so long, on our economy (your pension investment funds included) reliant on financial speculation and hedgefunds; it simply got out of control by careless lending over the years; not least to the spastic public borrowing far more than they can afford to repay; I think at the end of the day it is everyone who has shot themselves in the foot, not the government or the city on their own
