# this is fucking bollocks. Anyone with the slightest clue as to what is going on knows that this depression is caused
by Thatcher removing the higher rates of income tax in the late 80s. With all the people who were staggeringly well off, instead of putting that free money back in to the economy, took it and fucked off on massive holidays and bought property away from this country. They then started investing in housing and pushing the house prices up, lots of buy to let, etc etc, until it all finally went pear shape. The conservatives fucked us up good and proper. and now, like fucking brain dead idiots the British public are on the verge of welcoming the posh, inbred, shallow cunty children of thatchers britain back in to power to kill us off once and for all.

# I agree that this is in part the cause but
you have to accept that the US sub-prime market folding has caused a domino effect in the private world banking sector and we are just getting the arse end of something that started 18 months ago. Sadly we can't just say 'fuck the banks, let them live off their ( now squandered ) profits ) as the economy can't survive the repercussions.

But I commend you on at least having the decency to blame Thatcher ;

# absolutely, it's the final straw to break the camels back
but the rot is genuinely traceable to this removal of higher tax bands

# I'm not so sure, theTories will get back in.
Cameron is starting to show his true colours as is Boris - and I suspect there are enough people alive who remember that the Eighties wasn't all Duran Duran, Men Without Hats and leg warmers...

# the public are fuckwits
face up to the sad fact that we must prepare ourselves for the smug, arse faced, commoner hating, environmentally destructive power of thatchers bastard sprogs.

The problem is none of us know where else to vote. Lib Dems or Green party are still such a ludicrous pipedream, it's cross your fingers and hope that Labour wake up or kiss your arse goodbye.

I hated the 80s and took not a blind bit of notice of the propaganda.

Compliance with the "Zeitgeist" is optional as far as I am concerned.

# I did very well in the 80's
and am not ashamed of it. I still remained a socialist, I just managed to become reasonably well off at the same time.
The 70's however, now that was a bit pisspoor and I do remember when getting an egg with your chips and beans meant that dad was able to get some overtime on his 3 day week.
