I see no IMDB entry for Dead on Arrival
though apparently it's an alternate title for this: www.imdb.com/title/tt0078032/ is that what you meant? ...evidently not. Excellent, it's on archive.org, I saw Nosferatu that way.

Link above. (It's because it's actually called D.O.A. , but that's what it stands for so I presumed it would be listed as it)
You can download it or watch it on the tiny flash player, also if you click the Film Noir collection tag there are a fair few there too.

start with some Fritz Lang (M or Metropolis) move to the Lost Weekend by Wilder, via Citizen Kane detour to I am a fugutive from a chain gang arrive at Manchurian candidate and then finally Blood Simple, Chinatown and Sin City
M was bad as a movie, but sort of interesting as a historical document. It also has Peter Lorre in it a lot, running about and having his anxious, slimy, Peter Lorre face, which compensates. Metropolis ... I keep intending to finish watching because it's supposed to be good, but really, meh. Other suggestions there are all interesting, thanks.
