How do the news channels work out how much he is going to lose on his suspension? Yesterday they said he was earning £18m a year from the BBC in total and has been suspended for 12 weeks without pay which will cost him around £1.4m in wages.

If I work that out myself I get (18000000/52)*12 = £4153846.15

Or has he only been suspended from his radio show?

the other figure is made up or based on extra work (his Japanese show, appearances as a guest etc etc)
