# i'm feeling a bit depressed
I've had an idea for a few days for something really nice to do and despite several attempts i've not been able to get started on it because the source material isn't working.
It's not clear why it's not working though, some file problem somewhere, it works in one thing but not another.
I've got it finished in my head and it's lovely. I can see what I'd like to achieve, but I can't get anything done because of the material.
It's sad, I guess I won't be sharing it with anyone though I'll just have to enjoy it myself.
Maybe one day I'll be able to make it. I can't say what it is because it would be most special for you to see it without any idea of what it might be.
Anyway...
It's probably not that good anyway, so i might be better off just leaving it as a potentially wonderful thing.

I'm going to bed now because, thanks to a certain person who shall remain nameless, i'm unexpectedly working this weekend.
- which is a good thing, for now.

# once i spent literally weeks looking for source material for this idea...
Ozzy Osmond:

Had to make do in the end and I didn't get one reply. This is a tenuous repost really.

# The longer something takes
the worse it will be, in my experiences. It's all my quick work that usually gets recognised.

# I've only had two frontpagers..
and the second took me ten hours straight(no eating sleeping drinking pissing) mainly because i was trying to get it really right and was singlemindedly concentrating, but that was part of it. I'm doing the sequel at the moment, not all at once this time, but it's already taken about 3 or 4 hours.

edit: I forgot to put the point in. The point is i think it depends on the idea and the person and the medium. Actually, the point is ignore me I'm drunk. Thanks for the woo though.

# Only 2
of my frontpagers have taken me over an hour. They're usually the ones i don't even think "oh, this is good, i wonder what the magic donkey will think".
(, Sat 8 Mar 2003, 3:10, archived)
# Cripes, ten hours?
If I fiddle with an image for more than a couple of hours the idea just doesn't seem funny anymore [if it ever was] and ends up in the recycle bin.

I also tend to 'hyperfocus' when I'm 'working', but I couldn't do it without dear old caffeine.

# they are animations
and they need to be done frame by frame really, and published in quicktime, as gifs can't really handle the frame rate reliably or the colours.

and a bit really moved me.
I SO wish I could do this. It's probably just one stupid codec that's wrong/missing nto installed properly.

# update
after a lot of effort, i finally seem to have the source material in a usable state.
This time next week maybe (er, I'll be in London this time next week but it may just be done by then)

# I so understand
I have an idea at present and half the source material - but can't do the hummous part that will make it any good.
