EDIT: BEst I could do with the monitor res on this PC.

My daughter has Over The Hedge for Gameboy Advance.
How the fuck does one save the game? It is fine up until the gameboy is turned off, but loses everything then, which is obviously shit.
A surprise gift for anyone who can help.

No mercy i think it were.. the initial release had a bug in it that would save you progress for so long.. but then wipe the file. most iritating it was.. but apparently they traded it in for one that worked for free, but I had sold it all before i found out about that.
possibly a similar thing? does google not provide any answers?

It seems unlikely - it is saving the progress whilst the machine is on, but a 7 year old takes months to complete games, so that is of no use at all (I have no manual).

Three options There's a menu button you haven't found, it autosaves at a specific point or there's a save option in the main menu.

"That's the main problem with Over the Hedge on the GBA. After you've played through each type of level once, the novelty wears off. Unfortunately, you have to play through each chapter multiple times to collect all the food that's required to unlock subsequent chapters and eventually beat the game. Most people don't have the patience to tolerate that much tedium. The exception, of course, is really young children, who will likely be more receptive to the simplistic and repetitive nature of the levels than anyone over the age of eight will. "

"Navigating the menu is a bit difficult to comprehend at first, but once you realize the central forest area is a large hub with hollow logs leading off to the different levels and options menus, it makes a bit more sense, and actually is quite interesting."

"support functions - cartridge save" having no idea how these things work does it imply it saves to another cartridge?

I have quite the game and I can return to the game I want easily enough, as long as I do not turn off the power.

I don't even know what a gameboy looks like. I'm merely quoting some stuff from the web in the hope that it might be helpful.
