# ZOMG!
She's nicked TuTT's hair!

EDIT: If you want to try some different Muse stuff try and locate their cover of House of the Rising Sun. It's on the first War Child album if that helps. Also technically they're prog rock not emo so you can set your mind at rest. :P

# Just listen to what you like and ignore people trying to label things.
/EDIT IS IT JUST ME OR IS THE REPLY BUTTON FUCKED?

# It's a fairly wide genre.
Besically it means rock that doesn't stick to the generic rock bounderies. It doesn't mean Rick Wakeman wanking on a keyboard.
*buggers off to listen to Paramore*

EDIT: I can't reply Jeru so I'm going to do it up here.

I though that that's come under contention. Just as a genre is famed for an era doesn't mean it stops existing and evolves.

# At least you have the choice not to listen to it
my neighbours are playing Queen's greatest hits at volume 11.

I either close door and windows and roast alive or leave them open and listen to a band I don't particularly like.

# Yeah
They'd do a pretty mean Bond song too!

# Alternatively, ignore prog rock altogether - it's fucking orrible - and enjoy/make straighforward inchoate noise in simple 4/4.
*continues to mourn Ron Asheton*

# 7/8 for the win!

# OK, OK.
I'll admit to the odd venture into 5/4 and 13/8. But it's folk/jazz/jazz/folk stuff, really. And Stereolab, the exception that makes rules look as idiotic as they are...

Having said that, I think I've established a decent rule of thumb that almost scans, though:

Beyond 4/4, 6/8 and 3/4,
Turn in electric instruments at the sodding door.

# Jazz and folk?
Explain Money by Pink Floyd then.
