so, who else was crazy enough to commute into work this morning?
(edit: strangely I was only 10 mins late in this morning, and everyone else on teh road seems to think it's the apocalypse, but with snow and ice instead of fire and brimstone)

When I was at Uni then there was a hill from the Halls to the main campus, it was a slight incline then right at the end a proper black ski slope gradient. You could take a running jump and skid down the icy snow all the way to the black ski slope, then you realised you weren't going to stop.

i remember back in the eighties making a fucking ace ice-slide at school - right outside the bursar's office.

but those nice people at virgin laid on a train for us all, and as you say, the northen line is fine... Now there are about 3 people in the office.
