Ahha, cheers
Don't remember Burnden Park but I doubt it was a worse experience than the tedious plastic nonsense of their new ground.

to my knowledge
salford was where he based his paintings.
but my knowledge has a habit of being flawed at crucial moments.

Burnden Park
(Which I lived directly next to when at Bolton Uni back in '97 & '98)
when the ground moved to the Reebok Stadium, Burnden Park was set upon by 'Travellers' as a full time site.
What japes I had one evening coming home to find a set of their legs dangling out of our Kitchen window in a hurried escape with a black bag in our sink full of our CD's, videos and other such stuff inside.

One of my mates ended up going to Salford Uni.
although just up the road in Bolton, I felt slightly better in my first year because the Halls of residence I was in didn't have bars on the ground floor windows.

Salford is a fantastic Uni.
One of the best technical academies in Europe. Sadly it happens to be in Salford ( well much of it is ).
I was born in Salford. I am quite able to give unbiased comment. It's a shithole.

Indeed it is, but then the entire North West suffers from the affliction
Bolton too had a damned good reputation for engineering based courses (hence I started on the civils course, progressing on to arch. technology)
Apart from the muggings and car showdowns I suffered while there, it was a surprisingly 'ok' place.
and at least it wasn't Preston.
not a patch on norfolk though

Oh god I was 7 weeks in Preston
refurbing Marks and Sparks. I can't tell you how much that pained me.
Still. Not a two-headed sibling in sight ;)

Our churches may be much smaller in Norfolk because all the congregation sit on the same side...
But...
*trying to think up a witty retort*...
*fails*

ahh, the poor misunderstood vermin
there was about 300K of work done by teeside council to make a travellers camp with lots of money spent on new built facilities for them
they smashed the lot up and assaulted the workers
yay, how misunderstood they are!

Argh
I was going to write something totally different here but then I had a thought
What do gypsies call us non-gypsy people?

What do gypsies call us non-gypsy people?
Do they pour their tea into us?
If so, I might have to grab a hat and so searching!

I have nowt against 'true' gypsies and travellers
there are plenty of them here in Rural Norfolk, and they're lovely.
However, there are also plenty of 'modern' travellers as well.
Old Traveller "Lucky Heather"?
New Traveller "Lucky Heather? Or I'll break your legs".
