Give the Windows 7 beta a go :)
How many partitions have you got?

Well once you've enough space on two partitions it's not too tough.
Did you re-load the Vista boot? It's overwritten when you install XP. When do you bluescreen?

What.
I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. The most comprehensive guide I've used has been: apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm

Ah, yes.
When you install XP it rights over the vista boot (I don't know what it is) with the XP boot.ini.
You need to replace the boot.ini

The t-shirt with "My God, it's freezing in here" rather caught my attention.
Time for a ciggie, me thinks.
