Back where I used to live, over 8 years ago, they pulled down an advertising board on a newsagents, revealing an old "Tobaconist" sign, so they left it like that. It's still there to this day.

It's amazing how uncommon an event this is.
You keep seeing bits of the past peeping out from buildings.

In my neck of the woods
there's still a few buildings with the old painted adverts on the side for Hovis and suchlike.
They probably won't last much longer thanks to the current 're-generation'

Idon't believe the English language has a word that discribes works like gurning.
Verbs where the pronounciation actually sounds funnier that the action it represents.
