I out that cock on the wall to tempt some CDC fans
Top Tip:
If you have photo shop.. do this.. on the original image ctrl+a ctrl+c ctrl+v creates a duplicate layer**. Change this layers mode to multiply. Select the background layer again then ctrl+shift+n for a new layer. Do the colouring in in this layer.
** I do it this way out of habit, it's so habitual it's quicker for me than doing it the quick way...

Reason
if you do it this way when colouring underneath the line work. you will find its much easier and keeps the original line work untouched.
If your filling in the line work you get loads of issues with anti aliasing and white fringing around the image.
Sometimes I duplicate the linework so I can use the one underneath as a guide for filling and selecting regions.

ahh *learns*
I've always just set the colour layer beneath the lines, but I can see some advantages in your method.

I did that with the guy who's lost his glasses, then merged it by mistake.
I figured you'd be asleep at this time of the morning.
