# ooooooor
does EVERYTHING have aspects of perfection

mmmmmmm, mmmm

# everything is always perfect
If not, the universe would quickly disintegrate.
This is the truth.

# Heh.
Define "attain", or maybe "instant". Incomprehensible box is untrustworthy.
Edit: I suppose it could be like a really long bout of amnesia, on recovery from which you get the impression of having been asleep until the end of the universe, by which point you have learnt everything and become some kind of singularity. You wouldn't remember the process of learning it all, though (which would have taken place inside the box somehow), so that would be imperfect.
Or I suppose another possibility is that the world around us is vastly misleading, and the truth about everything there is to know is really very simple, and all the box does is give the game away by means of revealing a kind of cosmic spoiler. In which case I suppose the right choice is to press it. Somehow I think lingering doubts about the apparent importance of all the complexity around us might take a long time to work out, though. Like, millennia.

# Incomprehensible box is incomprehensible!
The idea of perfection should be repulsive to all of us. Its the little flaws which inspire and exite, only evil would make such a hollow offering. :D

The box could be offering perfection in the form of beautiful darkness, complete non existance, death. Or maybe a sea of jaffa cakes...

# I don't think perfect *should* be repulsive, since we constantly seek improvements as if we were aiming at something.
But it would leave us with nothing to do, which would be awkward. Nothing to think about, even. Ouch.
Still, I'm going to soldier on in the direction of things improving, for want of any better ideas. If I become perfect I'll just have to deal with it.

# perfection is relative to opinion and point of view
and is unmeasurable really. I love it when religouse folk refer to god as perfect. Thats just grand that is! :D

# Ah well
I'm an objectivist, and you're apparently not. I don't think we need to know anything about perfection for it to exist.
(, Sat 18 Apr 2009, 16:04, archived)
# quite.
im just reading about objectivism on wiki, never heard the term until today. Interesting... :)

# They seem to call it "philosophical reaslism" instead.
Ha, "realism is contrasted with anti-realism." It's probably more fun being an anti-realist. Might explain Catnipppp.
