Before we begin the battle,can I just state that I do not at any point doubt the importance of The Beatles in music. However, the majority of their importance is based on the social implications, not the musical innovation that they supposedly created. If you wanna gaz and have a chat with me about it, I would enjoy that. I love arguing about music :D

i agree that their importance is based primarily on the social advances they helped to propagate, but i don't see how that is a bad thingalso, i am probably not entirely capable of a sustained intelligent debate at this hour and in my current state of mind

I didn't mean it was a bad thing.However, my main point is that they weren't anywhere near as innnovative as people made them out to be. Undoubtedly the biggest band of all time though, and I think the most important band of all time. However, I myself, like Smash, am not a massive fan.
