I have a non working pc and a laptop with a non working screen,I can only get the laptop to work on the screen only in safe mode, can I get the laptop to pick up the monitor whilst in control panel or some such?

# Sounds like a driver issue. If your laptop has VGA then it's a direct VGA/VGA connector. It should detect the screen automatically, but some machines require you to hit an AV button.
