![Challenge Entry: MOCK THE POLITICIANS AND WIN A LAPTOP [challenge entry]](/images/board_posticon_c.gif)

I haven't posted in quite a long time. And have just been lurking for a while admiring everyone's work.
I was surprised to find this challenge up. For I thought B3ta was a place to post images people had worked on and wanted to share with other people.
I didn't realise it was some kind of political vehicle.
I should point out that i have no problem with individuals posting their own political pictures but that I do feel unnerved by politically sponsored competitions (even though they aren't mainstream).

Sorry, but that's just the way it is. If you want something a bit different I hear the British National Party have some radical ideas for immigration reforms...

I think its probably a bit of cash on the side for rob at the end of the day. I'm not sure anyone is taking it seriously apart from the professionals.
Its about more than a laptop for some guys, might get them noticed by some pricks in suits.

at the end of the day it's not Rob's job to please us. If anything we owe him for a well made, fun and well-run website and if he wants/needs a sponsored challenge then he bloody well have one.

but forgive us for being completely fucking outraged with our money being outrageously spent on MP's moats, duck houses, 'second homes' hanging fucking baskets, or whatever; just a hint even the docile public realize they have been treated like mugs before these 'expenses' were made public
But those Conservative MEP's exclaiming the NHS is shite really sums all this up; vote for that if you think Brown is a wanker; or stay the course and have a little faith; these were troubled times for anyone to be in charge; i'm not convinced he is the best man for it, but conservatives certainly aren't

I doubt most Tories agree with him. The NHS isn't going anywhere.

Well it's going further than lots of American humans who can't afford insurance cover in the States; which is a pathetic spectacle to behold a nation that can afford twelve nuclear powered aircraft carriers, and have to rely on the charity of medical staff working as volunteers
Such a society seriously sickens me

I would be equally annoyed if I saw a competition put up by say the conservatives criticising the labour party and I imagine that that wouldn't be greeted so well by users. I liked to look at this site as anymans place for posting what they like.
I saw the competitions as people's opportunity to think of something funny on a specific issue rather than a sponsored platform to push one spicific political idea.
Though to St's and jamnogs points i understand if the makers want to cash in a bit as it's probably not the most profit generating websites. It is his right to do what he likes with the site but i feel that one of the reasons I like to visit this site has been tarnished. Don't get me wrong I'm not leaving yet, just feel slightly saddened.

but finding a new image challenge is, I'm sure, never easy (i rarely enter because I'm not funny); so this is a new angle because there is a prize. I don't think it is the way B3ta is going: it is a one off for fun. I'd hate a Sponsered Comp every week: but that won't happen.
I hope.

I hope.

to the comments about the NHS, from the other side of the channel. Hannan didn't say he wanted to do away with universal healthcare, he just said that the NHS isn't the best model. Anyone thinking the NHS is the best model hasn't experienced continental healthcare standards and probably doesn't realise what they're missing. No offence to the doctors and nurses of the NHS, as it is not their fault that they are underresourced and suffering from too much bureaucracy. Nothing wil change, though, because it's being handled the same like immigration, debate is stifled by immediate misrepresentation and polarisation of any negative views.
