# Do a speed test when everyone else is out and see if you're actually getting anywhere near 50mb

# My flatmate did one
Apparently it's 40 on cable
and about 26 on wireless

# That's not too bad.
Broadband "megabits" are a massive con. Nobody ever gets what they're paying for.

# I'm on the 20mb package.
Just got 11.5 on speedtest.net

That's sufficient for my needs.

I do find that about once a week the connection drops, usually about 9am. I can connect to the wireless, but the router can't connect to the internet. It usually comes back on mid-afternoon. I think it might be the netgear router that's the problem though.

# :(
It's between 3 of us, so it aint THAT bad.

And it was only like a couple of quid more a month for it than the 20mb one.
It's done now, not a lot else we can do about it apart from be very british and moan and not do anything

# Odd.
If I type in an URL that is wrong, that's what I get. It replaces the old Microsoft LiveSearch that I used to get with BT.

# Possibly it's their DNS servers.
I know OpenDNS have their own Not Found pages too.
