# Morgan Spurlock tells an anecdote in one of his books,
that the chap who would later invent the McDonald's supersize used to work for a cinema chain. This cinema chain were struggling to convince people to buy enough popcorn - they tried buy-one-get-one-free, but no one wanted to be seen eating two tubs of popcorn. So what he suggested was that they increase the size of a portion by 100%, but only put up the price by about 10%. Suddenly people thought they were getting a great deal and people who used to not buy it started buying it.

Spurlock does not, however, name the people involved or the cinema chain in question.

# I've dug mine out again

There's a certain nostalgic charm about spending twenty minutes going backwards and forwards trying to find the thing you want

A bit like waiting half an hour for a C64 game to load
