crazily, there was a better selection of conveniently placed establishments in chelmsford, a town maybe a fifth the size.
morrisons and asda up here. strangely, tesco seems to be perceived as the chaviest of the big supers, whereas back home it was asda that slummed it.... probably a bit of regional bias.

It always used to be Morrison's that was the pikey supermarket down here. But then again, it is Northern ;)
