# Thanks for the input.

# Fallout 3 + all expansions was £14 on Steam last week
I almost considered buying it in anticipation of one day getting a computer capable of playing it.

Then I came to my senses.

# I said it was a controversial call!
I hope they will take the opportunity to sort out a lot of the niggles that let 1 down and allow the game to reach its potential.

And yes, I have no problem with a spot of level grinding if required ;p
(, Mon 4 Jan 2010, 13:51, archived)
# I don't mind level grinding either to be honest
but I want some decent rewards. Fallout 3 was pretty much perfect in that sense imo. It keeps the rewards interesting, plus they actually significantly effect gameplay in more complex ways than just "it gets easier to kill stuff".
I'll be the first to admit that I'm a horrible Fallout 3 bore though.

# Agree - there's a few early bags in Fallout 3 that serve to make the rest of the game more enjoyable rather than just easier.
TBH not played Mass Effect for ages - might give it another whirl before 2 comes out. I do generally remember enjoying pretty much all of it, with the notable exception of those sodding vehicle interludes.

# Mass Effect is awesome if you ignore the side quests
I still haven't completed fallout 3, I keep getting into it and then getting stuck in some stupid spot and I have to go back 3 or 4 save slots just to get back in the game.

I got stuck in the caves under Oasis one too many times and I still haven't got back into it.

# O_o
Really? I've never encountered an irretrievable spot in the game - I've always found that it's very good at leaving exit routes for you.

Ashally thinking about it, the Oasis one does have a no-return element. If you're like me then you'll just have got disorientated underwater and missed the passage you're supposed to take.

# It was about maths. I don't like maths.
I like drawing willies.

# Funny enough that's exactly what I used to do in maths lessons.

# I actually spent maths lessons writing complex programs on my graphical calculator.
On of them was a turn based very basic version of command and conquer.
Another one drew willies.
