# Bad Job Microwave!
All new Graphic Tablets images must start with a CDC! ;¬)

BTW which Graphics Tablet did you buy?
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:25, archived)
# is that done on photoshop or flash?
im used to your pixel paint pics, back to pixely pics i say!

# HAha
all you're missing is some practice. It's always weird at first.
Use the stylus/tablet for everything for a week, not just for drawing. You'll struggle for a few days but by the end of the week you'll be a convert. SRSLY.

i cant possibly imagine using this for a week but okay if you say so

i got a bamboo like you recommended

wait how the fuck am i supposed to scroll through webpages with the tablet
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:32, archived)
# hold down the lower button and hover over the pad.
mofaha's absolutely right, just force yourself to use it for a few days and you'll find it incredibly natural. When I got mine I hated it, now I only use my mouse for games.

#
oh i figured out how

man, this is hard.

# Cool choice
But Graphics Tablets are like using the Pen Tool in Photoshop - at first it seems like hard work, but after a while it proves to be far better.

#
photoshop has a pen tool??
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:35, archived)
# Hahahaha
I wore mine out.

# I know, it feels awkward.
I promise you though, if you persevere it will end up feeling far more natural than a mouse or touchpad. You already know all the mechanics of drawing, what needs to happen is that you unlearn the mousing habits that have become ingrained.

# this sounds like i'm being sarky but it's a serious question
what if i suck at drawing? is it worth my while getting a tablet to help me improve without burning through tons of paper and pencils?
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:38, archived)
# being sucky at drawing didnt stop me getting a tablet
i wouldnt get an expensive one though
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:44, archived)
# oh come on
i've seen your stuff, you're way better than me. unless that was learning to draw while you *had* a tablet? hmmmmm....

yeah i wasn't thinking of anything pricey, i couldn't justify it, but i've been tempted to try one for ages now.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:48, archived)
# bamboo costs about £80 if you look around for it.
It depends what you use it with really, its not going to make you an artistic genius if you're not, but it does enable you to more closely represent how you draw with pencils on the pc. Especially if you use illustrator.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:54, archived)
# That's what I'm looking for really
an easier way to practice drawing without filling my room with crud (well, crap pictures) and wasting tons of pencils. I've got no illusions that it's going to make me any better than I am :)
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:58, archived)
# How big?
I bought a crappy bamboo for under fifty quid. It is tiny but give you a feel for it. I don't really use mine much after a bit of playing around with it, but I recommend giving it a go. Input devices are about choice and the worst I've used is a mouse, which everyone else uses. Try something else and see if it fits.

# I mean I was thinking the same as you when I got my tablet
but in the end I just went fuck it it's only £80 and got it
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:55, archived)
# Ah, see what you mean
I'm extremely tempted actually
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:58, archived)
# That's an good question.
I reckon if it encourages you to draw more then you'll probably improve. Plus of course you've got the magic of Undo to help :)
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:56, archived)
# The real world needs more Undo :)
There are so many times recently it could have come in useful...

# meh
I did that then the IT director decided for me that windows 7 was not an option but that I should back step into the dark ages and have xp... fuck knows why. now I have lost all ability to draw cocks
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:45, archived)
# I'm still on XP.
I use a Wacom.
I can draw cocks.
ALL THIS CAN BE YOURS.
(, Tue 9 Mar 2010, 21:58, archived)
# Like everyone's already said, practice!
I hardly use my tablet, and my drawings with it look crap.
My drawings without it look crap also.
