# especially if you watch the wrong version
the final Directors one was cack compared to the noir detective voice over version

# I actually prefer the original version
with the voiceover

# thats what I said
the directors one doesn't have it, and seems very sleepy
Although something tells me the original didn't have the voiceover, that was the second version to hit cinemas, along with the added happy ending from the Shining footage

# Heh
for a moment there I thought you were saying they tacked outtakes from The Shining onto Blade Runner in order to create a happy ending.

# sarcasm is very hard to read and write on the internet
I assume you didn know that that was what the car driving off footage was

# Goodness
that's absurd.

# That's exactly what they did

# eh?
I want to see this now

I've only seen Blade Runner once

# As if they would do that!
What - they did ?

# The voiceover was there originally
though Scott didn't want it there.

It wasn't until 92 we got an official release of the V/O free version

# The Workprint or original Directors Cut came first (released 82 and 91)
that played badly to the test audiences so they added the voiceover and happy ending
then we got the third version which was more violemt than the US release and then there were another 3 versions after that!

# It's history is even more convoluted than I thought
and there was me thinking Scott and WB just wanted to milk it for all it's worth every ten years

# I've tried to watch all versions
I think I may have tried to see all the versions, about 20 times each!
But unable to stay awake through any.
I even have the sound track on vinyl and CD, so I'm honestly an interested fan of the film.
But it just knocks me out when it's played!
I can't help it, it's like Heroin for film buffs! : )

# I've only managed the whole thing twice
But I've attempted it about once a year since the first time it was tv

I LOVE the new documentary on the DVD though
