Yep. It's rather odd.
I mean, I suppose there is a sense in which having someone chip away at your privilege could undermine your sense of yourself in some way - but you do then have to wonder at the mentality of someone whose basic complaint boils down to "I'm threatened by a demand for equal treatment! It's so unfair! I should probably kill some people!"
