A scotch egg
is an egg, hard boiled, surrounded by sausage meat and breadcrumbs, and deep fried. Therefore a scotch breakfast is any breakfast which receives the same treatment.
Also applies to whiskey, mist, tape and obscure Italian disco bands from the 80's.
