it's just the most vocal people on the internet really.
To be fair, it's just a film, and it may actually be decent (not seen it yet, although I haven't watched a marvel film all the way through since iron man 1) but I'm not sure about the whole man-child thing.
Some vocal excitement on the internet doesn't mean any more than people who watch soaps or super into music. I wouldn't label something manchild like and be done with it. You could miss out, same as you would with labelling other things.

I doubt I miss anything apart from silly costumes and lots of CGI.

but surely you've watched and enjoyed some hollywood blockbusters?
This is no different really, I mean I hate the Marvel crap and all the fanboys, but I give them a look.
Or is it Bergman, Tarkovsky and Fellini all the way? I doubt it.

I stopped watching anything "Hollywood" many years ago. I do not own a TV and if I do want to watch something I torrent it.

There Will Be Blood, Interstellar, No Country for Old Men, Saving Private Ryan, Pulp Fiction, Whiplash, Nightcrawler... so many films.
Cabin in the woods too! I like horrors and that one was fun. Could easily have ignored it, turned out really well.
I think your problem is more with the fans and the catering for them.

Worth a watch then?

Ok I have seen a few of them - There will be blood - found it terribly boring and wanted to punch Daniel Day Lewis in the face for boring me.
I did like No Country for Old men but it is not the best Coen brothers.
I have seen Pulp fiction and at the time it came out I thought it was good.
The rest I have not seen or would want to.
The funny thing is I work for production companies and I have a free cinema pass and last year I used it twice to see Alpha Papa and Citizen Four. This year I have not used it at all and gave it to a mate who goes nearly every week.

Zero Dark Thirty?
The Bourne Trilogy?
A History of Violence?
Gran Torino?

None of the above apart from Bourne which was alright but as always with all franchise movies was total shit in part 3.

I have a great interest in cinema but not manchild films or Hollywood blockbusters.

I would think more so if you don't like the whole superhero thing.
It's a heist film with improbable-tech bits that's never too far from taking the piss out of itself and what an absurd concept it is. The big climax especially. It's probably less ridiculous than the trailer for the latest Mission Impossible that preceded it when I saw it.

Its good because its not as shit as Mission Impossible - LOL I am really wanting to see it now!
