This is a normal post We had a bunch demonstrated in the office yesterday
The rift looks great, and the hand controllers and social interactions with other users look like game-changers to me.
Vive only looks of interest for larger walk-around installations, and kinect showed how much longevity that will have.
Hololens is so different nobody seems to know quite what to do with it for now, but long-term I think they're going down a more interesting path.

The one that will kick things towards mass-adoption though will be the PS4. I think that'll be most people's first experience of exactly what it has to offer.

This is a normal post Yeah I don't even think Microsoft know what they are doing with the Hololens
on one side they say it's an enterprise tool, then they show people playing alien shooting games and minecraft on it. Plus £3k for a dev unit makes you wonder how much the final product will cost.

Certainly looks like we are close to getting the VR we were promised as kids that never really happened.

This is a normal post VR vs. AR
I think VR will turn out to be great for immersive entertainment - AR will be much better suited to "real world" applications

for instance, check out what the company "daqri" is doing with their "smart helmet" (snigger)
