This is a normal post it's not a left/right issue
there are cunts at the fringes of everything

This is a normal post True, we should round them all up and boil them down for tallow.
I wonder if it ever occurs to them that all they do is reinforce entrenched views and push people toward the opposite extreme.

This is a normal post I find honest fringes refreshing. They are at least trying to have coherent world view.

This is a normal post No problem with that at all so long as they are part of the debate rather than trying to shut debate down.

This is a normal post Except there is no debate.
Thanks to the multitude of news sources available, it is easy to only watch that which reinforces your world view and tends to confirm your prejudices. US politics has become so polarised that there are very few people with a balanced view and thus no middle of the road opinion.
There are actually many, many sensible Americans who support Trump and see Hilary Clinton as evil incarnate. Their simplistic view is that they have worked hard, saved, pay into healthcare schemes from their earnings and she wants to take the majority of their earnings off them and give it to lazy people who made no provision for their own care and illegal immigrants.
We (probably correctly) see Trump as a dangerous lunatic, but don't make the mistake of thinking all his supporters are, nor that he is unelectable...

This is a normal post Polarisation is on purpose, in reality both are middle of the road parties, only different flavour, for different target group.
Polarisation gives tribal spin and retains voters. Simples.

This is a normal post I think there is a more vocal, numerous and active left wing fringe
If you look at this country, compare the number of demonstrations/riots that take place under a conservative administration to that that take place under a labour administration. I realise these things are policy related, but even so.

This is a normal post It's probably because people get more right wing as they get older.
Pensioners find it hard to work up the energy to go into town to spit at people entering the Labour party conference. That, and they'd forgotten what they'd gone into town for by the time they got there.

This is a normal post I think there's more than a little truth in this.

This is a normal post people tend to get pissed off when they think they're being denied something
which is basically what Austerity is all about

This is a normal post the only issue I can remember the tory vote getting on the streets for ever is foxhunting
Wonder how far you'd have to push them fiscally to mobilise them. Would have loved to have seen the mansion tax riots

This is a normal post the tories dont have a huge number of activists or the trade unions behind them so it's hard for them to organise protests
They have got loads of cash though
