I just don't get Calvin & Hobbes.
Read a bit of it and can't fathom what inspires such adoration.
What's the problem? Have I just not read the good stuff or do I lack the necessary emotional components to properly appreciate it?

it is a distillation of the nostalgia for childhood innocence, coupled with mature hindsight
it is also a spot on picture of adult/adult relationships and adult/child relationships from both perspectives
plus it's funny
