and the guy rummaging in there is acting super dodgy. Esp as Hillary had modified her podium before the debate, due to Trump's stature being a disadvantage to her (so if it IS lighting, then surely that's unfair?)

I can't believe none of you find it more than a little odd.
Hillary's already deep into cases about leaked emails, pay to play dodgy dealing etc. All kinds of things in court about her bleaching data. There's a huge list of her dodgy stuff going on right now. Even down to rigging against Bernie Sanders (that should be coming out next month) to gain the running. What makes anyone think she's not up to it?

Occam's razor
for me would suggest it's just part of the podium, and Donalds probably had a switch with a light too.
The email stuff is dodgy, but nothing suggests she's a master of misdirection who could pull some con on live TV in front of 84 million viewers.
