It's the future.

True
Yes, I suspect it was less the walking, and more the light adjustment that caused the problem, but it flickered badly so had to cut away

FYI, if you need to pick up rolls of 8mm reversal film
https://www.gaugefilm.co.uk/store/c9/8mm_Reversal.html
These guys now have the new(!) Kodak Ektachrome in stock for the same £70 with processing.
They also offer a digital scan with optional enhancements too.
The Ektachrome has a nicer colour cast than the Wittner rebranded Agfa stock.

The film was actually from gaugefilm
I used 'Agfa Aviphot Chrome 200D' and had a digital scan as you suggested. Much better quality than the VHS transfer of my parents 8mm reels in the 80's which were obviously SD quality... well worse than that.

The difference being you needed someone else to film you in the 70's. If they were interested.

Ha, yes
And then it feels more obvious that you want to be the star of the show

love a bit of A-team-style building
it's interesting as a lot of our photos and film from that era have washed-out colours because of the film, it tends to affect your memories, as if reality was also that way instead of being just as crisp as our eyeballs are now. So your film looks like you've invented a time machine

Absolutely
I shot a test reel with my nephews, and it was very hard to imagine that these were modern day kids. The Isle of Wight looks much the same as it did in the 70's which adds to the illusion

Nostaligic
How quickly things date - in the time it took you to get the film developed and edit it Bogies has been demolished and is just a hole in the ground now and a couple of the high street shops aren’t there any more.
Now there’s a problem you don’t get with modern vlogging!
