I remember the Ferrari F40 being the first production car capable of 200mph. Things have moved on somewhat.
Mind-boggling thing: travelling at 248mph and then having another gear to shift up into.

But think about this. At 300mph, you will be travelling 134 meters every second. Your breaking time will be between 10 and 15 seconds, during which you will travel at least half a kilometre, probably more like a whole kilometre.
Then a deer trots out into the middle of the motorway around 250 meters ahead of you...
I want to know what proportion of the people who can afford to buy and insure one of these cars would have the superhuman reaction times to be able to perform an emergency stop without dying.
