Crikey - I remember the theme well
But I genuinely don't remember that it was aimed at helping adult literacy. Maybe I just thought it was a slightly odd children's programme!

Same here. I didn't remember what the programme was about at all, but as soon as I heard the theme I was singing along "life is an .. open book, if you open your .. eyes and look..."
