So is there some poor sod who has to go up there each year to check its all still safe to use?
Bit like the one about the most remote Swiss mountain bothy/shelter, I imagine it being used by the fit, intrepid climbers scaling the heights to take in the views and make drone videos. Only to be overtaken once a week by the minimum wage cleaning lady lugging a henry hoover with her kids in tow as she goes to clean and tidy their shelter.

There seems to be a casual attitude to fixings in Italy
I did a few VFs in the Dolomites where rings had pulled out of the rock. That said, brilliant fun to do.
