This is a normal post Yes mate. Harvey Weinstein got a much easier ride because he’s straight.
This is going to be so much worse than Schofield, who was in a consensual relationship. Schofield was about age inappropriate relationships, power dynamics/grooming, adultery, and dishonesty. If you weren’t such an imbecile relentlessly pushing the gay victimhood narrative, you’d get this. The fact is if Schofield had done what he did with a girl he’d have fared worse as he wouldn’t have morons like you defending the creep. “Phil and Huw did nothing illegal” you bleat. That doesn’t make it OK.

This is a normal post Just admit you're a fucking homophobe and be done with it, eh?
Weinstein deserved what he got, but let's be honest. The fact that he's old, fat, ugly and Jewish all factored massively in how the public reacted to his crimes. If his victims were young men as opposed to young women, it would have only been worse for him.
There was a distinct lack of torches and pitchforks pointed at Danny Masterson during his trial, no? Not exactly being vilified now that he's been convicted, either? Is he? Wonder how much of that is because he doesn't resemble a giant walking tumour? Or because his victims weren't male?

If you honestly believe that Huw Edwards and Philip Schofield's sexuality didn't play a significant role in how the public reacted to revelations surrounding their behaviour, then I'd suggest it's you that's the fucking imbecile. Or maybe your latent homophobia is severely clouding your judgement?

This is a normal post Want to talk about homophobia?
The only reason Boy George has still got a career was because he beat up and chained up a rent boy. If he’d done that to a female, he’d never have been on tv again. But, you know, it was a rent boy. They know what they’re getting into, they’re practically begging for it.

Let’s talk about transphobia, and how you have named yourself after a character from a relentlessly transphobic sitcom.

This is a normal post I've named myself after a relentlessly chippy b3tan.
I'm not sure what your point about boy George is. Nobody gives a fuck about prostitutes. Handcuffing one to a radiator during a drug-fuelled psychotic break because you thought they stole your laptop is hardly tantamount to rape, is it? Especially in Facebook court.

This is a normal post Really displaying all your honesty and intellectual integrity right there.
You are named after a character in a relentlessly transphobic sitcom. Fact.

You are excusing the assault and false imprisonment of a rent boy because ‘nobody gives a fuck about prostitutes’. What scum you are.

And all the while you pretend you’re the good guy. Such a lying piece of shit.

No, sweetheart. I'm not 'excusing the assault and false imprisonment of a rent boy'. I'm trying to explain to you in simple English why Boy George still has a career (if you can call it that) following his conviction for false imprisonment.

I didn't say that I don't give a fuck about prostitutes (I don't, really. But that's besides the point). I said that 'nobody' gives a fuck about prostitutes. That's 'nobody' in the figurative sense - you know, like 'nobody' likes Prufrock, although I'm sure one or two people actually do.

'Nobody' is being used in the context of the public as a whole, who (let's be honest) don't have the same kind of record for speaking up for the rights of prostitutes as they have for campaigning for race/gender/sexual equality. Therefore, Boy George - who was hardly a public figure in 2009 to begin with - getting put away for doing a shitload of coke and handcuffing a prostitute to a radiator isn't going to accumulate anywhere near the same kind of Social Media notoriety as that nasty gay Huw Edwards looking for a bit of completely legal homosexual company, is it? Are you still keeping up? Hope so!

Bit of a weird take to presume I'm pretending to be a 'good guy' by suggesting that there will be significantly less outcry to Russell Brand being a pred because his victims are female. Why does that make me a 'good guy'?

I've genuinely no idea who the fuck Tony Hayers, actually is. But the fact that you're so triggered by him probably isn't the most reliable indication that he's all that awul, let's be honest. Okay, that's a lie. I know he's an Alan Partridge character and that you really, really hate him, but that's about it.

This is a normal post Wow. What a comeback. Totally convincing. You win the argument.
Why don’t you toast your victory with a pint of lager, a small Baileys and a gin and tonic?

Anyway, I thought your lot called them ‘sex workers’, not prostitutes.

This is a normal post I can think of loads of people
who have careers on-par with Boy George despite similarly grubby convictions.

Bez and Ian Brown for a start.
(, Mon 18 Sep 2023, 13:02, Reply)
This is a normal post Hmmmm.
I had to Google what Bez did. Dealt with by a magistrate, who described the assault as “gentle” and merely a “technical breach” of the law according to The Guardian. Only did time as he refused community service. So I call bullshit on that one.

Ian Brown is a psycho. But when has he ever been a highly paid mainstream presenter of prime time light entertainment?

Who else have you got?

The Voice UK
The Voice Australia
C4 Stand up to Cancer
Celebrity Apprentice USA
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

He tried to get on Celebrity Big Brother, but was on probation at the time, and the probation service forbade it.

Various other guest appearances on various other shows.

This is a normal post "highly paid mainstream presenter" is pushing it with these,
unless The Apprentice USA winners get to join Culture Club.

This is a normal post Those shows were watched by millions. At prime time. On major networks. He was a regular on them.
If you don’t think he will have been highly paid for them, there’s not a lot more I can say.
(, Mon 18 Sep 2023, 17:57, Reply)
This is a normal post Yeah, but not as a presenter.
So, like Ian Brown, then.

Who performed on many mainstream shows, and appeared in a Harry Potter film, even after being found guilty of threatening to cut a woman's hands off.

Your theory that there's some sort of gay privilege with these things is nonsense.
(, Mon 18 Sep 2023, 19:34, Reply)
This is a normal post Oh, ok, you’re just resorting to being pedantic now.
He wasn’t THE presenter, he wasn’t the host, he wasn’t the anchor. He was a major recurring contributor though. He was a judge on a talent show, then a coach on a talent show, held up as role model for contestants.

I’m genuinely surprised that Brown was in a Harry Potter movie. I did not know this. What he did to his ex was worse than the air rage IIRC.

I don’t have a ‘gay privilege’ theory, I’m just trying to counter the cries of ‘homophobia’ when gay people are called out for doing shitty things. Twitter was awash with people claiming that if Huw and Phil were straight there wouldn’t have been a fuss about what they did. The straight privilege theory, if you will. Complete bollocks. I think in Boy George’s case, he’s cut some slack precisely because it was ‘just’ a rent boy, and not some tart with a heart. That’s where the real homophobia is.

This is a normal post I wonder what the reaction would have been
If it was revealed that Huw Edwards or Philip Schofield had been sending a BBC car to pick up a 16 year old boy from his school so that he could be brought to them for sex?
(, Tue 19 Sep 2023, 7:28, Reply)
This is a normal post You think Brand’s being let off lightly? His woes are just beginning.
IIRC Schofield was using an itv car to ferry his teenage friend around. No laws were broken.

Edwards is merely suspended on full pay because diddums got the boohoos, the poor lamb. He’s weeping all the way to the bank. I foresee a big payoff for him too.

So of the two, Phil was way harsher treated.
