This is a normal post This is my first real exposure to AI "music".
The novelty value wears off really really quickly, doesn't it?

This is a normal post Some of it is jaw droppingly good,
but as with its visual counterpart there's more and more shite to wade through to find it, and the more of it there is the less valuable it seems to be.

I'm still enthusiastic about one day having *useful* AI music tools incorporated into DAWs (virtual musicians and arrangers who you could train using your own source material for example), but text prompt based stuff does not seem like the way forward, at least not for me.

This is a normal post When you say jaw droppingly good,
do you then actually listen to it more than once for pleasure?

Most AI stuff just seems impressive from a distance, and shit when you look at the detail.

Udio is only fun because of the human input. If you couldn't write your own lyrics, I doubt anyone would enjoy it.

This is a normal post There are a few that I have listened to more than once, yeah.
E.g. the 'new' Nirvana song from a few years ago.

AI DSP seems, to me at leat, to be better quality than its visual equivalent, but of course its a little shonky, and it's dependent on the material its been trained on. The kind of AI tools I'd be interested in would be MIDI/score based anyway.
