Well, yes and aerials receive, not transmit
But my real issue is that Brandreth's whole way of talking and his schtick, especially on Just a Minute, is that he is so clever and erudite, but he's not. He's just a twat in a jumper.

This applies to just about any receiver though
A radio receiver transmits sound, but not radio waves. Unless we're going to throw convention out of the window I'd argue that a satellite dish does not transmit. Nit-picking aside, of course!
Also, reminds me of a crazy idea I had about having LNBs transmit a small amount of power to supply the satellite. It didn't get past the first conversation with an RF expert!
