Also after experiencing the effect of 'humanism' on my good friend I can say with assurance that humanism is no better than any other fucking dumb religious cult

This is a normal post I've heard there are some proper nutters
but all the humanists I've met (pretty much all at funerals) have been pleasant, respectful, and nice. Selection bias, obviously.

This is a normal post I've never heard humanism described in this way before.
It seems to be a philosophical position like atheism or agnosticism rather than a set of doctrinal beliefs.
