The BBC news website can be a bit weird btw.
If for some reason an old story gets to the most read bit (mostly happens on a Sunday) it stays up there for quite some time as more and more people click on the link and keep it there.
It happened time and time again with a story about a African chap who was forced to marry a goat after being caught bumming it. It happened mid-naughties and hit the most read for several years.
