No bloody films done that to me in fucking years, so I was happy, regardless of a few dodgy bits n slow parts.
I get a strong feeling there's gonna be an extended version cos some bits seemed to have missing plot points, but we'll see...

Oh yes I'm 100% sure their will be a director's cut
and maybe some of the stuff will be better explained by Ridley Scott himself. What irks me about some people who have ripped the film apart is that they fail to see that this is a Ridley Scott film, there will be easter (alien) eggs everywhere and he wouldn't dare risk his reputation putting together a rubbish ill thought out mess of a movie there has to be a reasons and I'm sure those reasons will be provided in good time. But even if Ridley Scott had suddenly gone off his head and made a mess of a movie then the Producers and Money Men of Hollywood would have squashed it flat dead rather than risk losing millions on a mess - so there is more that's for sure.

Maybe, but are we talking about as a director or just something he was vaguely involved in
as far as Sci-Fi films are concerned Ridley Scott is the best and most innovative director there is. And with a film of this hype and financial backing there is no way that he's completely lost the plot. If it was a money thing and was being the puppet of Hollywood we would have had the popcorn action horror sci-fi but it would have been forgettable and dull and the sequel will just have been Prometheus 2 and not something that itself will be a unique film and give us more insight into the first film.

I didn't say he had completely lost the plot.
There are plenty of directors who I love, who are good at making a particular type of film, who sometimes don't make a good one, for one reason or another. That's life.
As is the fact you loved it, and I thought it had issues.

There are issues of course
some of the characters are completely one dimensional they could have been replaced by cardboard cut-outs with more depth. But I'm enjoying the debate about the film and the speculation about it's meaning and why it has such obviously large plot holes that make it feel disjointed which Ridley Scott must have known it was going to cause people to hate it but that's what makes me more sure he has good answers.
