I couldn't agree more. When you see this collection of privileged tosspots engaging in these pointless pissing contests it just makes politics seem very irrelevant to normal people's lives.
Can't we have some kind of system of government where sensible debate happens, followed by some kind of democratic vote, free of party whips, that actually gets shit done?
Genghis Khan had the right idea etc. etc.

MPs seem to think they're "accountable". Or at least they do when they're talking about the Lords. There's something terribly wrong when I have more respect for a bunch of unelected old dodders than I do for those the public apparently elected.
They like to think that the public don't vote on party lines, but I say this: if you know the name of the MP you voted for last time, post it.
