This is a normal post is that not a (forrin) zebra crossing though?
Shouldn't the driver have slowed down a little if it is a pedestrian crossing point?

This is a normal post As far as I know
The UK is the only place in the Universe that cars stop for pedestrians as a matter of course

This is a normal post Flashing ambers at a zebra mean stop if there is a someone crossing.
But, the way people drive, I think it is worth having a look to see if a car is coming.

This is a normal post In Portugal if a car doesnt stop at a crossing to let you cross the driver incurs an automatic 300 euro fine.
That is even if you only have one foot off the kerb and there are crossings everywhere!

This is a normal post In Rejkyavik
the traffic stopped on the main road along the waterfront to allow me to jaywalk. At rush-hour.

Now that is civilised.

This is a normal post True
In my knowledge, in many countries you are supposed/expected to wait at the crossing for the cars to stop and let you cross, but they don't have to stop if they don't want to.
