The question I'm asking is "Who cares?" It's Superman. He's invulnerable, has practically unlimited power and is immortal. Does anyone think there's the slightest possibility that he could suffer any lasting harm? If not, why should I care about him when I know it's a 100% dead cert he'll end the film unscathed, surrounded by the corpses of his enemies.

All the people he loves and that matter to him aren't.
What good is immortality when you have to watch everything you've ever cared for wither and die in front of you?

Whether they die violently and young or peacefully and old, they're still dead long before you.

I never knew that. At what point do immortal people stop growing up and become their eternal age?

I figure that either qualifies as immortality or there's a Superzombie roaming around, and noone wants that now do they?
