The first powered flight of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo.

If the program continues at the same pace as SpaceShipOne they're still at least six months away from getting people into space, but this is the single biggest milestone behind them now.

But that's largely what SS1 looked like too. Thing is they're burning laughing gas and rubber. I don't know what the by-products of that reaction are, but I'm willing to bet its not water.

The orange is uncombusted carbon, the black is soot, so also unconbusted carbon.
