But why is our professional army fighting and dying so that a bunch of medieval tribesmen can take power from a slightly worse bunch of medieval fuckwits

They're building an oil pipeline that goes from Iraq, up to Russia across Europe and then into America.
There's not a lot of that black liquid left in the world.
It has to go through Afghanistan, they want a piece of the pie, but it's not worked out.
The military are there to protect the construction of the pipeline, there's nothing else there, other than mountain goats and tribes.
Why do you think we are there? This war will go on for years...
