Beautifully simple. It must have been done before. If it hasn't I suspect he is going to be worth a fair bit of money in a couple of years.

He's not building drawers so much as he's just building boxes. A fancy bevel joint is still just a bevel joint, and the amount of trouble he's gone through for the result makes me laugh.

This is a normal post You can also use "V cuts"
with a router, for those amongst us with no table saw...
But to be as strong, I would need to use a modern glue not the cheap stuff he used.
So If you were to make regular use of it, his system makes sense.

A carpenter designing an expensive bespoke cutting tool forgets the whole "measure twice, cut once" thing.

It's been a while since I made some drawers, but what's wrong with using a dado joint? Maybe I've inherited some prejudices from my woodwork teacher, but I wouldn't be using plywood for anything visible anyway.
