for the real stuff
there are websites and shops. The best stuff to start out with are royal road to card magic and Bebo's Modern* coin magic.
*yep, it's been in print 100 years and still called modern :P

Royal Road and Bebo
My Dad runs Hank Lee's Magic Factory, and I wholeheartedly agree with this post. They are the two very best books to start out with for card and coin magic. BTW, my dad's site is:

I reckon these people are planted. I mean really, just holding someone's shoulders and saying a few words, and bam!, they think they're Tatu or David Blaine/Beckham?
