I don't know for sure what sparked the incident in the video, but I can take a pretty good guess. Two blokes have a heated discussion in a Safari Mall, a down-market shopping centre. One of them ends up saying "Fucking Muslim" or something similar, and is then surrounded by a hundred fellows who want to stomp on his head.

I think the main reason (apart from cash) that Qatar was chosen to host the World Cup was that there are large numbers of football supporters in the Gulf, and it seemed a bit churlish to avoid the region if it could be hosted safely. Plus there was lots of cash.

If Qatar does end up hosting the World Cup, it seems probable that some drunken Brit will fling a few religious insults around. I can't imagine it will end well.
