This is a link post Grrrrrrr!
I'm so angry.
I bought a Servis washer/drier six months ago. After one month it broke down. An engineer came round and and said he's have to order some parts. Two weeks later I called up and they told me that they had received one of them but were waiting on the other.
Forward four months and I called up last week (after weekly calls with them assuring me that they were still awaiting parts) and then last week they tell me that the engineer had been round in July and fixed the machine and closed off the call. So there's been three months where I've been told that they've been telling me that they're waiting for parts when the call was closed, three months of them weekly been promising to call me back and haven't.
I finally after 45 minutes on hold got put through to head office where their official line is, well send someone out this week but bascially we don't give a flying fuck, 5 months that my tenant has had to pay for a laundrette and 5 months of me looking like a bad landlord!

EDIT: I've just worked out I've spent over 16 hours on hold to them!

/END RANT

This is a normal post you might be able to get something out of them in a small claims court
provision of goods and services act includes that services should be carried out in a reasonable time, might atleast be able to claim back your tenants laundrette costs or something

and surely after just one month it was under manufacturers warranty, could have tried demanding a new unit rather than repairs

This is a normal post This is sorta the plan
But it's been suggested that I go through an mediator first.

This is a normal post No, don't bother with a mediator
...fill in the claim online (www.moneyclaim.gov.uk). If no defence to your claim, you win and if they don't pay immediately you can send the baliffs in or have a winding up order placed against them. The last one always works *very* quickly.

This is a normal post thank you very much.
Does that stand even if they do turn up on Wednesday?

This is a normal post Only if you have incurred costs -
Then you will only be able to claim 49% of said costs or 49% of said Insurance cost in that time.
