Remaking with Martin Clunes was an act of stupidity on a par with Brexit

you can't finish the crossword like you used to, nasty taste in the mouth in the mornings, can't stop thinking about sex, can't start doing anything about sex, wake up with a sweat in the mornings, keep falling asleep during '"Play For Today"?

Enough with the Brexit.

and while I don't have anything against Clunes himself, it feels like an act of sheer stupidity to try to outdo Rossiter.
Also... who was the target audience? The people who already loved Reggie were never going to want to see a remake. So that leaves people who never saw the original or never cared for it, and they don't seem like people who would be up for it either.

If I remember, the books have a bleaker tone and more social comment, and I'd welcome a version more like that.
