...you have a mention on brand republic saying you're bridging the gap between Private Eye and Viz.
Where's the magazine available from?
edit: Brand Republic article

Looks like they printed the press release word for word.
And what the hell is Limb by Limb when it's at home?

According to that article.

that suggests that Limb by Limb is well know, at least in culty circles.
The quote at the end made me laugh:
"We at Limb By Limb have realised that lifestyle magazines are shit, especially our one, so, with new business partners, we are launching a very different title at the Edinburgh Festival. It is called The Poke. It is funny."
In other words, that zeitgeist-surfing magazine we tryied to make was a bit shit, but give us more money and we'll do another zeitgeist-surfing magazine that isn't shit. In a different style.

haha.
Looks like they use accidental sarcasm in their press-releases.

you've done some stuff that's raised a smile, but this is not really the place to spam your new magazine, particularly one that is...
"being backed by a number of media companies including Channel 4, International Artists and Paramount"
Unless your a mate of Rob's, obviously

8 years ago we did a one off FREE mag at the Edinburgh festival - we managed to convince a few media companies to buy an ad to cover the print costs. we are having a stab at doing it online with zero backing (as yet). we hope to raise a smile occassionally. we want to give wannabe comedy writers and digital artists another platform. we have always been fans of b3ta - in fact you will find b3ta.com on daily mail tube map. Which, by the way, we have just been ordered to take down by some cross people at Transport For London.. :(

we've only been at it for 3 weeks. it's a bit of trial and error. if people like it we may try and do a mag again. if they don't then we'll stumble on online or go back under our rock. cheers!

judging by the site, the twitter and facebook pages, and that thepoke.co.uk is still registered in the name of 'Limb by Limb'?

yes - hope one day to be able to make money and give up day job. mind you...totally take your point on being spammy and PROMISE to use link-posting restraint.

I'm just mentioning that this board might not be the place to push it. Sure if you've got something that's stand-out awesome then link it up, but simply pushing your own site on a daily basis pisses people off. As you will probably be gathering.

In reference to your quote on Brand Republic, I don't remember any conversations with my friends in which we've included Ab Fab up there with the list of British comedy greats. That was just shrieking nonsense. Give me Vic & Bob (the early years), Bottom, The Inbetweeners, Brasseye etc. Anyway, the Americans were funny on screen before us with Keaton, Lloyd and Chaplin (yes, i know the latter was English), and they remain to be funny even 90-100 years later.
